Eric Decker is latest receiver to land a reality show

Eric Decker doesn’t get compared to Chad Johnson or Terrell Owens all that often, but the three wide receivers have at least one thing in common.

All of them have reality television shows now that E! has decided to go forward with a show chronicling Decker’s life with his fiancee. The cable network unveiled their new programming slate on Monday andĀ Love and Other Contact Sports: Eric and JessieĀ got a spot on the schedule.

Decker and Jessie James, a country singer, are preparing for their wedding and, in the proud tradition of Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries, they have decided to let E! cameras chronicle the steps they take toward the altar. According to the network’s release, “they share an ambition to succeed, a charmingly fun and unfiltered outlook on life, and most of all, a red-hot attraction for each other.”

Feel free to insert your own Hard Knocks joke here.

When he wasn’t gloating about having a quarterback, John Elway said Monday that the Broncos aren’t worried that Decker’s involvement with a reality show will cause any problems for his day job.

“He came in and talked to me the other day about it, so I gave him [my] blessing,” Elway said, via Bill Williamson of “To each his own. I don’t think that’s going to affect him. I know Eric Decker and how hard he works and what football means to him.”

As long as Decker remains productive of fellow receiver-turned-reality star Hank Baskett (to say nothing of the former castmates mentioned above), that blessing should remain in place.

How boring. It has to be leaps better than the crap show Kroy Beirmann is on with his wife, entitled “Don’t Be Tardy” on Bravo.

These two seem a little less skanky than your typical celebrity couple. I guess that probably means the show won’t work out.

As a Broncos fan, I wish he would just concentrate on football. As a fan of reading, I have no idea what that last paragraph means.

There are some crazy women who are obsessed with this guy… this show won’t help.

Anyone remember his fiance saying last year that Decker’s performance on the field may be down because he’s oversexed?

  10. fearthehoody says: Apr 22, 2013 6:35 PM

Does not matter the season will end with these words like always,”And Peyton throws another pick, and the broncos are eliminated from the playoffs.”

WTF With so many pro athletes getting arrested for domestic violence Is this the best name they could come up with. “Love and Other Contact Sports” Unless it’s on Cinemax love and contact shouldn’t be in the same program

I just puked on my Golden Gopher Snuggie. WTF Decker??

I just threw up…hopefully it will affect his play on the field, in a bad way.

This must be the reality show for the loser receivers whose fans talk trash about ray Lewis’ “retirement party”

His wife probably convinced him to do it. Decker seems like a humble dude. I wouldn’t expect him to want to do something like this unless his wife is making him do it.

Decker is from a small town in Minnesota. Usually that doesn’t lead one to marry famous women and star in reality shows.

Come on Decker! Keep it real, yo.

Was hilarious to watch him get worked in the playoffs and crying about not getting calls after having to see him yap all game in the regular season because officials were calling interference whenever he could throw up his hands.

    He’s so dreamy. Sigh.

Maybe Decker will aspire to reality show greatness like everyone else that has dabbled in the genre has. As a devout Bronco fan….. lame.

The ratings won’t touch Rolando McClain’s appearances on COPS!

Humphreys and Decker.. Both former Gophers,
    Both current Jokers

My niece Had her 2 sons @ a football camp he was at. The older one was in high school & when it was over decker came over to the 2 year old to make him feel like he belonged too. My niece was talking to “some really nice woman” during the drills & found out @ the end it was Jesse James.
I hope “reality” TV doesn’t screw them up.

What is it with Minnesota born professional athletes and E! marriage shows?
