The deadline for teams to make offers to restricted free agents other than their own has come and gone, leaving players with the choice of signing their tenders or staying away from team activities in hopes of landing a long-term deal.

Punter Britton Colquitt has chosen the first option. The Broncos announced Tuesday that Colquitt has signed his tender. With Colquitt signed, the Broncos have retained all five of their restricted free agents.

Colquitt is the franchise career leader in gross and net punting average and set a franchise record with an average of 42.1 net yards per kick during the 2012 season. That ranked him third in the league and first in the Colquitt family.

Britton’s brother Dustin punts for the Chiefs and managed a net average of 40.8 yards per kick last season. Dustin will be the better-paid Colquitt brother next season, however. He signed a five-year, $18.75 million deal with Kansas City while his brother will be playing for $1.323 million in Denver. The contract will give Britton something to aim for as he prepares an unrestricted free agent next year.
