Browns not trading up for Raiders’ No. 3 overall pick

Cleveland Browns v Oakland Raiders Getty Images

We’ve seen reports today that the Browns want to trade up into the Top 3, and that the Raiders are talking about trading down from No. 3 overall. But the Browns and Raiders will not be trading partners.

A league source tells PFT’s Mike Florio that the Browns aren’t trading up to No. 3.

Other teams that have been linked to the No. 3 spot include the Lions, Cardinals and Dolphins. A team that’s trading up to the top 3 could be targeting whichever of the three top offensive tackles (Eric Fisher, Luke Joeckel and Lane Johnson) are still on the board, or Florida defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd, or BYU defensive end Ziggy Ansah.

Cornerback D.J. Hayden appears to be the player the Raiders are eyeing.

Shariff Floyd is just 20 and an absolute beast. This dude will be stuffing a lot of runners the next 12 years

It makes sense if the Raiders are seeking a 2d Round pick; indeed, the Browns don’t have one because they used it in the supplemental draft on Josh Gordon.

Quite frankly, I don’t see the Lions trading up if, as reported, Fisher is going No. 1 overall. The Cardinals or Dolphins may be possibilities, especially the latter with two 2d Rd picks.

Hey, Raiders- all you gotta do is convince the Lions that the Eagles are taking Honey Badger #4, and they give up all their picks this year to trade up.

Ive got it from solid sources that say, the chiefs have a deal in place to trade the No. 1 overall pick to the Jets for the No. 9 and No. 13 overall picks plus a mid round pick next year. My source says the Jets are looking to take Geno Smith No. 1

And in other news it has been speculated that the sun will come out tomorrow, Reggie is going to do what he thinks its best for the Raiders and we won’t know what that is till it’s done.so speculate all you want HATERS

Everyone is playing for 2nd this year. Browns are a lock!

It is made up. This “a league source” is garbage. What good are sources if you can’t sight them. PFT doesn’t really know what’s gonna happen. That’s what makes the draft so fun.

The only real certainty is that the Jets fans and Eagles fans will “boo” their pick.

Smokey in here. Cannot wait until tonight!!!!!!!!!
Here we go Brownies, here we go!!!!!!!

At least those of us who live on the west coast don’t have to wait until 8pm to see the draft. We get to see the draft at 5pm, which is 3 hours ahead of the east coast !!!!! So we’ll know before everybody else who the #1 pick is!!! …… Uhh what?….. wait a minute….. oh darn it!!!

Browns are a mess. Can’t even execute proper smoke screens & misinformation without coming across unorganized and lacking vision…

The Browns are looking to move up to #4 to draft Lyndsey Lohan…. oh wait hold on…. they are looking for Miley Cyrus.

Browns got hosed last year by the Vikings. Won’t make the same mistake this year.

As a Patriots team I really hope this is true but I am not gonna go the word of some guy on PFT and his imaginary source. I got a source that says your source is made up.

the browns cannot offer what the raiders are looking for (2nd rd pick)

  17. eatitfanboy says: Apr 25, 2013 5:06 PM

I don’t think anyone really thought that was happening anyway. But thanks for debunking your own rumors.

  18. ilovefoolsball says: Apr 25, 2013 5:11 PM

I really don’t think anyone cares about either of these teams except the people who live in those cities.

They are irrelevant and they habitually suck.

  19. heat256 says: Apr 25, 2013 5:11 PM

If the Jets are dumb enough to make that trade, if I’m KC I jump all over it like a squealing schoolgirl.

  20. whitdog23 says: Apr 25, 2013 5:22 PM

    OR Patrick Star
    OR Sponge Bob Square Pants

STOP GUESSING! no more posts until the draft please. you’re just GUESSING

  21. tech831 says: Apr 25, 2013 5:22 PM

Raiders will trade down twice in the frist round, and pick up DJ Hayden!

  22. laxcoach37 says: Apr 25, 2013 5:29 PM

Never in a million years would I think that the Dolphins now have a good shot at landing Luke Joeckel !! with a Raiders trade. KC is taking Fisher, Jax takes ??? hopefully not a Tackle. Worst case, we get Johnson, which was the original impossible targeted pick. The Draft is going to be full of surprises. Can’t wait. You will need a pen to keep track of all the swaps. I bet we see at least 8 trades and a few shockers tonight. Go Phins!

  23. aldavis4president says: Apr 25, 2013 5:40 PM

Cmon dolphins!! You guys have a nice nucleus now all you need iz the 3rd pick to get the BEST player available. People say the draft isn’t deep but the top 5prospects in my eyes are STUDDS!! Ggive my raiders your 1st and 2nd and make it a deal!! You too cardinals take the deal!! I’d even take Minnesotas 2 1st rounders for our 3rd overall

  24. canadianbucsfan says: Apr 25, 2013 5:47 PM

Smart move Browns. This draft it is better to have a bunch of picks in the 2nd-4th rounds. Trading down in this draft is a good move in my opinion. The top 10 this year compared to last year will be a huge difference. If I was any team in the top 10, i’m trying to trade down and gather more picks.

  25. zenrooster says: Apr 25, 2013 5:51 PM

Lions will draft a WR. Why? …………………………………………………………………………………………………………..

    exactly – no reason.

in that pic, it looks like that raider is throwing up gang signs

  28. lbcoach34 says: Apr 25, 2013 6:35 PM

    My sources dispute this report

The Browns are in fact moving up to #3 in exchange for the ability to have a rumor about them trading for Ryan Mallet, Davone Bess, and Branden Albert

  29. trubroncfan07 says: Apr 25, 2013 6:49 PM

Sharrif Floyd reminds me a lot of Gerrald Warren when he came out. Can’t believe people are saying this guy is worth a top five pick, the guy had three sacks last year.

  30. thetooloftools says: Apr 25, 2013 7:11 PM

The Browns are just covering themselves for this leak. The Browns are going to go after Gino Smith and Weeden will be gone. Weeden is a diva and has been dead weight since day 1. They may trade him along with a pick to move up meaning they may trade up with Philly as well.
Weeden is NOT the QB of the future hear in Cleveland one way or another.

  31. thefiesty1 says: Apr 25, 2013 7:50 PM

They’d just waste it if they did. They don’t have a clue and never have. Whoever gets picked by them should just set out a year rather than ruin their career before it starts.
