Chargers take Alabama tackle D.J. Fluker with 11th pick

Desperate for help along the offensive line, the San Diego Chargers selected Alabama tackle D.J. Fluker with the 11th pick in the draft.

The San Diego Chargers were forced to watch as five of the first 10 picks came along the offensive line. Eric Fisher, Luke Joeckel, Lane Johnson, Jonathan Cooper and Chance Warmack all were off the board by the time the Chargers got on the clock.

Yet the need to protect Philip Rivers dictated the Chargers selection. Fluker was the third straight player selected out of the University of Alabama. The Chargers were unable to adequately protect Rivers last season and San Diego will need to rely on Fluker to bolster a porous offensive line.

Couldn’t help but notice…none of the fairies from that great Rudy team have been picked. They sure gave Coach Saban a run for his money in the title game.

Where’s Manti? Now that Sandusky is locked up I’m sure he’s cruising all the elementary schools handing out ice cream bars…

    Roll dam tide.

When he makes a play he should yell “You got Fluked!” Or maybe “Fluke you!” Perhaps “Fluke you, you Flukin ‘ Fluker!”

    Hey logicalvoicesays….

    When do the Skins pick?

    They sure need a lot.

They barely have enough money to sign the rookies…

    Good pick.

Now all the team needs are two cornerbacks, a strong safety, a nose tackle, a couple OLB’s, a running back or two, a young center, and the rest of the O-line tackles and guards.
