Jaguars sitting in prime position for QB-seekers

David Caldwell

The Jaguars might want a quarterback of their own.

But Jags GM David Caldwell also has a chance to offer anyone else their pick of passers.

Since Florida State’s E.J Manuel was the only quarterback taken in the first round (16th, to the Bills), every other passer remains on the board for teams to sleep on.

As Florio mentioned earlier today, the Jaguars were targeting either Syracuse’s Ryan Nassib or Southern Cal’s Matt Barkley with the 33rd pick. Now, they have a choice.

But the needy teams might want to get to West Virginia’s Geno Smith or N.C. State’s Mike Glennon, and might make them an offer they can’t refuse.

At this stage, the Jags could move down and still get their choice of Nassib or Barkley, and get a little something to boot.
