The Patriots, who released Brandon Lloyd and lost Wes Welker in free agency, spent “about 25 percent” of their allotted pre-draft visits with wide receivers, ESPN’s Mike Reiss reported Thursday.

California’s Keenan Allen and Southern California’s Robert Woods are among the receivers with whom the Patriots met, Reiss said. Both wideouts seem likely to be selected on either Thursday or Friday, when the Patriots have three of their five draft picks -- No. 29 (Round One), No. 59 (Round Two) and No. 91 (Round Three).

However, the Patriots enter the draft with only two third-day picks -- Nos. 226 and 235 in Round Seven.
