Bears fullback / tight end Evan Rodriguez has been cleared of charges stemming from a March incident in Miami, Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reported Friday.
Rodriguez reportedly faced disorderly intoxication and resisting arrest charges, but his attorney told the Tribune the State’s Attorney prosecuting the case “made a conclusive determination that no crimes were committed by Evan Rodriguez.”
The 23-year-old Rodriguez was the Bears’ fourth-round pick in the 2012 draft. He played 12 games as a rookie, starting five, catching four passes for 21 yards.
With the Bears hiring a new head coach (Marc Trestman) and installing a new offense, this is an important season for Rodriguez, who reportedly had multiple off-field incidents in college.
