Steelers agree to deal with La’Rod Stephens-Howling

The Steelers have brought another local product home.

According to Jason LaCanfora of, the Steelers have agreed to a one-year deal with former Cardinals running back La’Rod Stephens-Howling.

Stephens-Howling is a capable third-down back and return man, who adds a different element to the Steelers current stable of big backs.

The University of Pittsburgh product, who visited earlier this month, joins Pittsburgh-native Bruce Gradkowski, who signed earlier this offseason to back up Ben Roethlisberger.

They’re also¬†still talking to Ahmad Bradshaw, who was just cleared medically.

Let’s see if the Steelers give him #36
    I don’t think so

who cares where he’s from?? every game is sold out and there’s a waiting list for tickets.
are Steelers fans really craving to see more guys from Pittsburgh play on the team? “6 Super Bowls is enough, we want to see more local players.”
    OMG Gantt…..lamest post ever

Good 3rd down pickup. Still gotta get that homerun back in the draft. Pick up a deep threat receiver and steelers will be back in Business.

All I have to say is “awesome”. They probably still need to draft a RB tho.

Good pickup! He’ll immediately take over KO returns and probably 3rd downs…still need a NO. 1 back, but its one less hole to fill in the draft

I thought the Ravens lucking into a SB win would stop their fans obsession with the Steelers but evidently their fans still just sit around and wait for Steeler news to comment on. Sad

Good pickup. Should help in the return game too. I must be the only fan who won’t mind adressing RB from 4th-7th round. Just sign Bradshaw too and have everyone battle it out.

I’d like to see S, CB, DE, OG, WR, LB (again) before we go Runningback.

Apparently you can’t mention a certain recent MLB from Baltimore with a checkered criminal history without getting your comment deleted.

Seeing what Ratbirds fans can get away with posting on every Steeler thread has left me questioning the mods here.

Are Steeler fans so obsessed with the Ravens that they make them the #1 topic in their own post? Apparently.

Lol Indiana jones just found 4 of the steelers super bowl rings. He’s donating them to the smithsonian in DC…

There’s also a little known player still in the mix too ….. Jason Ford. He came in undrafted last year from Illinois. He showed promise before he got hurt, though.

Oh, and at cornerback, Josh Victorian showed flashes as well, when he played.
