Report: Raiders not considering Vince Young

The Raiders are no longer a potential suitor for free-agent quarterback Vince Young, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported Wednesday.

The Raiders added Tyler Wilson to their QB depth chart on the final day of the NFL draft, and Wilson’s arrival closes the door on Young being a fit in Oakland, Rapoport said. The Raiders also have Matt Flynn and Terrelle Pryor at quarterback.

Rapoport also reported that Young is “not interested” in the Canadian Football League. The Montreal Alouettes hold Young’s rights, but general manager Jim Popp has told multiple media outlets that Young, were he to join the club, would back up current starter Anthony Calvillo.

Young, whom we added to our All-Unemployed Team on Wednesday, has not appeared in an NFL regular-season game since 2011 with Philadelphia. The Bills released him last August.

Young, who turns 30 later this month, is still relatively young for a quarterback. It’s hard to believe he wouldn’t get another look from an NFL team at some point. However, the draft may well have taken away some of the opportunities that could have been available to him.
