Ravens reach deal with Harvard fullback Kyle Juszczyk

The draft has been over less than a week. And already, the Ravens reportedly have deals with the majority of their 10 selections.

The club has come to terms with fullback Kyle Juszczyk, a fourth-round pick from Harvard, Adam Caplan of reported Thursday evening. Juszczyk caught 52 passes for 706 yards and eight TDs in his senior season with the Crimson.

According to Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun, the Ravens have also reached deals with Colorado State-Pueblo center Ryan Jensen (selected in Round Six) and California cornerback Marc Anthony (Round Seven). Both figure to vie for reserve roles. (Wilson also reported Juszczyk’s signing.)

All contracts for players selected after Round One are for four years, per the collective bargaining agreement between NFL owners and players.

Also Thursday, the Sun‘s Wilson reported Baltimore came to terms with offensive lineman Ricky Wagner (Round Five), defensive lineman Kapron Lewis-Moore (Round Six) and wide receiver Aaron Mellette (Round Seven).

The Ravens’ other draft picks are safety Matt Elam (Round One), linebacker Arthur Brown (Round Two), defensive lineman Brandon Williams (Round Three) and outside linebacker John Simon (Round Four).

So what does that makes the Redskins? Haven’t even been to the Super Bowl since 1991. The Ravens are 2-0 in the Super Bowl since 1996. Four playoff appearances since 1996 against the Ravens nine. I’m amazed you put your support out so publicly given the teams awful performance since ’91.

I guess Washington is where players go to quietly end their careers.

Logical u are funny. There is no rivalry between the ravens and skins nor the fans. We know the ravens are the world champs, been to the playoffs 5 years straight. Don’t confuse one reg season win.

I’m not even gonna attempt to pronounce that last name.

Juszczyk reminds me of Tom Rathman. He’s a legit fullback with great hands, who likes to “big boy” people. The Ravens’ power game will continue to give AFC North opponents headaches. As for the Redskin loser, this: WE ARE THE SUPER BOWL CHAMPS, WE ARE RELEVANT, AND WE ARE FLATTERED BY THE ATTENTION!!!

Look at all these exciting moves Ravens are making! What’s Pittsburgh done? Oh, they’re still trying to work out a deal with that punter.

I think the Ravens actually keep Leach AND Juszscyk this year anyway (think Leach is under contract for this year and next). Kyle is a completely different mold of “fullback” than Leach, the stats listed in the article prove that. He is the type of versatile player the Ravens love. I think he gets on the team as their 3rd tight end and a versatile pass catching option out of the backfield, all the while picking up pointers from Leach on how tofurther annihilate linebackers in the run blocking game. Its a great fit for the kid, i’m excited to see how he does.

Keep in mind that Matt Birk was also from Harvard and he was sensational. Ravens have made a lot of amazing moves. The only thing amazing about the Steelers is how they followed up a dismal 8-8 season by sitting on their hands. Maybe they could play the Redtails in a sort of Skunk Bowl between the two teams with the most chaotic front offices.
