When Pierre Garcon was unable to play last season due to a foot injury that forced him to miss half the season, the Washington Redskins offense struggled to find consistent production from their receiving corps.

Garcon was the only Redskins receiver to eclipse 600 yards receiving last season and Washington ranked just 20th in the league in passing offense. Coupled with the Redskins choosing not to take a receiver in the draft, it may be the reason a trio of undrafted rookies felt the Redskins could give them a strong opportunity of making an NFL roster.

The Washington Redskins signed five undrafted rookie free agents to their squad with three playing wide receiver.

New Haven receiver Jason Thompson, Troy wide out Chip Reeves and Connecticut receiver Nick Williams all signed deals with the Redskins this week. Thompson is the only one that checks in over six-feet tall at 6-foot-3. Reeves and Williams are 5-foot-10 and 5-foot-9 respectively.

Behind Garcon and Santana Moss, the group of undrafted free agents will be competing against Dezmon Briscoe, Leonard Hankerson, Joshua Morgan and Aldrick Robinson in hopes of finding a roster spot. Washington could add more competition to the roster this offseason as they still have room on the 90-man offseason roster.

In addition to the group of receivers, the Redskins also signed inside linebacker Marvin Burdette from the University of Alabama-Birmingham and Utah center Tevita Stevens.
