Felix Jones works out for Eagles

The Eagles conducted a workout for running back Felix Jones on Tuesday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported.

Jones, who turns 26 on Wednesday, spent the last five seasons with the Cowboys, rushing for 2,728 yards and 11 touchdowns on 569 carries (4.8 ypc) and hauling in 127 receptions for 1,062 yards (8.4 ypr) and 11 scores.

Jones (5-10, 215) could appeal to the Eagles as depth behind LeSean McCoy and Bryce Brown. The Eagles dealt reserve Dion Lewis to Cleveland earlier in the offseason and did not draft a back.

The Bengals also worked out Jones earlier in the offseason but have since re-signed Bernard Scott and drafted Giovani Bernard and Rex Burkhead.

Our sorry O line didn’t help Felix be productive, I think we had less than 10 rushing TD and Romo had one. Wish the best to Felix, he is scary fast.

After LeSean McCoy got “smoked” by Vick, they need some super fast RB.

Felix Jones…scary fast gets hurt way too much. He would be good for change of pace along with KR/PR.

one of our backs will miss a few games. jones will fill in nicely.

  7. Logicalvoice says: May 7, 2013 4:43 PM

Scary fast? Only in a straight line… and only if no one touches him. Otherwise he’s like a fish out of water…

The Eagles already have an unreliable fumbler as a backup. Not sure why they think they need another. My guess is it was just due diligence.

Felix Jones (aka Mr. Glass) will not be missed in Dallas.

Another Jerrah Jones misfire. Talented but oft injured. Though I hate the Cowboys, I honestly feel for the fans having the latest version of Al Davis calling the shots for America’s Team. That is a lie. I love that that buffoon cannot be fired.

dallas is no longer america’s team.

We need to sign him. Reggie Mckenzie’s trippin. Perfect RB to share the load with DMAC.

Felix Jones wasn’t a JJ misfire. He was sensational when healthy. One of the best in the league. Not JJs fault the guy can’t stay healthy.

Logical voices , you must be a foreskin homer. 42-0? We’ll see about that….

Felix is just simply not what he was when he first entered the NFL. He failed his conditioning test last year before the season and he is easily injured. Had a very good game against the Ravens last season (95 yards) but not much other than that game.

They still have Chris polk too, who can be a change of pace back as needed. He was hurt most of last year, but played great at Washington before he was drafted.
