Jaguars sign pair of undrafted rookies after tryouts


The Jacksonville Jaguars signed running back De’Leon Eskridge and defensive end J.D. Griggs Monday the pair of undrafted rookies joined the team for rookie mini-camp on a tryout basis over the weekend.

Eskridge played last season at San Jose State after spending his first three seasons at the University of Minnesota. Eskridge ran for 1,060 yards and 11 touchdowns during his senior season. Griggs played the last two seasons at the University of Akron. He recorded 41 tackles with 11 for loss and six sacks last season for the Zips.

The Jaguars released linebacker Greg Jones and running back Richard Murphy to make room for the pair on the roster.

  1. Even with ALL the film they have, I’d think 19 tryout guys was a bit too much (not to mention it was rainy everyday of camp), let alone 23 UDFA’s.. Either way, this just means more competition which is always giggity, & that’s the way your supposed to build a team.. I’m not expecting a big year from my beloved Jags, but at least we won’t get pounced on like we did last year.. Kudos to GM Dave Caldwell & coach Gus Bradley.. Superb work so far!!
