Sunday Night Football announcement coming today

images

At 4:00 p.m. ET on Tuesday, Sunday Night Football producer Fred Gaudelli will convene a conference call with a “special guest.”

The purpose of the call will be to make a “major announcement” regarding a talent addition to the broadcast.

Though I (continue to) have no inside information, I’ll assume that Fred will be introducing the new artist who’ll perform the SNF opening anthem, I’ve Been Waiting All Day for Sunday Night.  Last month, Faith Hill relinquished the gig after six years of kicking off the show.

Feel free to make your guesses as to who it will be below.  I voted for KISS.  And then they reminded me I don’t have a vote.  And then they politely asked me to be sure to empty the trash can on my way out of the room.

  52. comatrip1 says: May 7, 2013 3:13 PM

This is Pro Football Talk. The answer is obviously, and always, Tim Tebow. Tim Tebow will be singing it.

“I’ve been waiting all day for Sunday night…. so I can continue to worship Him as it is the Sabbath and that is the only way to act on such a day…..” Doesn’t rhyme as well, but the lyrical content makes more sense than trying to add two team names to a football pun that rhymes with “kickoff”

  53. brownoholic says: May 7, 2013 3:14 PM

    BLACK SABBATH!!!

  54. taintedsaints2009 says: May 7, 2013 3:15 PM

  60. humb0lt says: May 7, 2013 3:19 PM

I really don’t care who sings the intro song. I just want to watch football.

  61. 2ruefan says: May 7, 2013 3:21 PM

Yeah, I like the Steve Martin idea.

He already has a song with lyrics about it.
    “Atheists don’t have no songs”

Regarding attending church on Sunday it says:

“Atheists just take a pass, watch football in their underpants…”

  62. daflabear says: May 7, 2013 3:22 PM

  79. rocketcrab says: May 7, 2013 3:54 PM

I like most of the suggestions, but I vote for the person who has the best singing voice I ever heard – my wife. I’m not kidding, she missed out not pursuing a professional career. And with the $$$$ she could have brought in, I could be retired by now. Besides, if my wife sang the intro to SNF, I would never hear “you’ve been watching football all day, now at night????” ever again. If she reads this, I’m a dead man………

  86. cav2ya says: May 7, 2013 4:11 PM

Well, if the current trend of politically correct, no backbone, no-offensiveness type of thing continues, it’ll probably be rod stewart or elton john.. maybe even celien dion.

I’d vote for the Offspring, Pearl Jam, Hell, Ozzy would be awesome..

  87. hashtagfaith says: May 7, 2013 4:13 PM
