The Broncos have signed rookie offensive lineman Vinston Painter, their sixth-round pick in the 2013 draft, the club said Thursday evening.

The 6-6, 309-pound Painter is likely to compete for a backup role on the Denver offensive line.

Painter, 23, started 13 games at right tackle for Virginia Tech in 2012. He also got looks at guard and defensive tackle earlier in his career. He was a reserve before entering the starting lineup last year.

Painter is the first member of the club’s six-player draft class to sign a contract, the club said.

I love the Raiduh fan with the ridiculous name who feels the need to bash the Broncos in every story about them. It’s funny cause your team hasn’t had a winning record in over a decade, think about that, an entire decade, yet you say that another team sucks? Have you had more starting quarterbacks or wins in the last 10 years? I’m sure Matt Flynn is the answer though….get back to us when you get that elusive 9th win.

Really looking forward to this kid being in the mix. He’s a beast.

And what exactly have the Donkeys won since 1999? Nothing…that’s what. What was the last AFC West team in the SuperBowl? Not the Donkeys. So you’re the idiot atwater…keep spouting off how great they are, but until you win it all then records don’t matter, moron.

If it weren’t for the Chiefs, the Raiders would be the laughing stock of the league.

This guy must be the reincarnation of Al Davis – he’s got the same football knowledge as that clown.

You guys, credit where credit is due – the Raiders were the last AFC West team to go to the Superbowl.
But wait – which team in the AFC West last won it? Oh right, the Broncos in back to back years. And they also were AFC West Champs the last two years running. Meanwhile, Oakland has only hit .500 twice in the last decade, and took 3rd or 4th in the division 9 out of 10 years. And that’s while being in a division with the Chiefs and the Broncos during the McDaniel years. Quick question, Raider, how many 1st round draft picks from the last 10 years are still on your team?
I’m hoping the Raiders can claw their way out of the cellar because I miss the rivalry. I’d rather feel passionate about the matchup than sorry for the other team. Sadly, it’s going to be a while for that. Too much cap damage.
In the end, yes, the Raiders did go to a bowl more recently than the Broncs, but in the NFL, the only thing that matters is the next Superbowl, and I think Denver’s a bit safer bet for that then the faded Raiders.
