The Lions are up next for Josh Cribbs

Josh Cribbs isn’t lacking for suitors.

Cribbs wrapped up his visit with the Giants on Thursday and is now headed to Detroit. Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reports that Cribbs will be meeting with the Lions as he searches for a home for the 2013 season.

Stefan Logan did almost all of the kick and punt returning for the Lions last season, but didn’t post particularly strong numbers in either spot. He’s a free agent and the Lions haven’t made any moves toward bringing him back, which leaves plenty of room for Cribbs to do his thing in the kicking game.

Cribbs has met with the Raiders and Jets as well over the last few days as interest in his services has ramped up with the recovery of his knee following surgery for a torn meniscus. We’ll see if more teams throw their names in the hat, a development that would enable Cribbs to continue racking up frequent flier miles.

So for the next 32 days, it will be the Josh Cribbs tour starring Josh Cribs. Where do I buy my tickets?

The Lions? What happened to Titus Young?

Guess he’s looking for the most money and shopping himself around.

Wish the Bengals would think about signing him. Be a hell of an upgrade from Brandon Tate.

Logan kneed a free kick at the 10 yard line after a safety. Thats just one of the many reasons he wont have a job anytime soon in the NFL

Ehhh….as a Lions fan, don’t love the idea; don’t hate it either.

At the right price, he’d be a major upgrade over Stefan Logan, one of the dumbest, skittish and unmotivated players in Lion history, which is quite an achievement. Once he signed his 2nd contract, Logan lost the ability/interest in doing anything other than taking a knee or running out of bounds, regardless of circumstance. Meanwhile, someone will probably over pay for Cribbs and the Lions will try KR by committee until someone distinguishes themselves. Possibly someone not yet on the roster.

Cribbs is a baller straight up. We will miss you Josh!

Lions fan here. Cribbs would be cool, but if we could pick just 1, I’d take Max Starks or Dwight Freeney over Cribbs.

The Bengals have Bernard and PacMan. Other teams need Cribbs, Lions have no money for him if he’s wanted by multiple.
