Linebacker Aaron Curry wasn’t the only veteran player to convince the Giants he deserved a job at their rookie minicamp.

The team announced that they have also signed defensive tackle Frank Okam and tight end Michael Palmer after the completion of on-field activities at the minicamp. Okam, a fifth-round pick of the Texans in 2008, did not play in the NFL during the 2012 season. He last played in 2011 for the Buccaneers, who cut him at the end of the preseason last year.

Palmer spent the last three years with the Falcons after making the team as an undrafted free agent. He played 43 games for Atlanta as a backup to Tony Gonzalez, starting five times and catching 21 passes. The Giants signed Brandon Myers as a free agent earlier this offseason and also have Bear Pascoe as their main blocking tight end.

The Giants also signed three rookie tryout players, including defensive backs Junior Mertile and John Stevenson. The third player signed was former Massachusetts wide receiver Jeremy Horne, who will get a chance to catch some passes in OTAs while the team waits for another one-time undrafted free agent from the same school to return to work.

Tackle Levy Adcock, wide receiver Marcus Davis, defensive back Buddy Jackson, linebacker Charleus Dieseul, defensive tackle Bobby Skinner and kicker Jake Rogers were waived to make room for the new arrivals.
