Redskins get a pair of draft picks under contract

Brandon Jenkins AP

The Redskins didn’t have a first-round pick this year, so none of their contract negotiations should be worrisome at all.

Two of them are already taken care of, with fifth-rounder Brandon Jenkins and safety Bacarri Rambo signing their rookie deals today, the team announced

The team still has five picks to sign, but plenty of time to get that done.

Jenkins is an intriguing prospect, after a Lisfranc injury kept him off the field for most of his senior season. Prior to that, he was a promising pass-rusher (22.5 sacks in 40 games at Florida State), and has the time to develop since the Redskins are solid with starters at outside linebacker.

The best team in the NFL once again has the best draft! No one is better at finding talent than Bruce Allen and his staff. HTTR.

2 new receivers for Tony Romo

Redskins were a good team last year, and upgraded the secondary. They had a good draft where they were able to swing for the fences with their picks since they have 21 of 22 starters returning. I can see Rambo, Thomas and Amerson contributing. Maybe Jenkins as well.

Eagles are in transition, cowboys not great, and the Giants will be in 2nd place. Skins will win NFC east again!

I love how NONE Skins fans chime in on what the SKINS are doing. People have nothing better to do than hate. The organization is doing it the right way, and fans are excited. What is the problem with that HATERS? We finally have something to be excited about!!! Congrats to the two guys for signing and welcome to one of the best fan-bases in the NFL. HTTR!!

To all of you people clamoring for logicalvoice on every Skins post and making pathetic spin off usernames.. Just stop. He’s not going to go away anytime soon. And please leave room for real Redskins fans who actually use the boards to discuss their team.

I don’t care how much Washington loves RG3 – the price was WAY too high, and as the Rams move up, Washington’s roster will get older, and Snyder will be forced to hire FA VETS that cost 3x more than finding a good young talent. Washington will fight the CAP every year.

The impact will be from this year forward.

Glad to see Rambo sign on. I see him having a bright future with the Washington Redskins franchise.
As for the haters…they will hate. That’s what they do. The Redskins success and their future is killing, I mean just eating them alive….there’s no denying the SKINS success and the awesome team that has been assembled. The Redskins future is nothing short of promising. The haters are going to be livid when RGIII takes us to the super bowl. And it is going to happen soon. Maybe even this season, who knows. I’ve said it over and over that we, Redskins Nation, are the best fans in all the world if sports and all the haters can’t stand the loyalty and respect we have for our team. Through the good and bad we’re always Redskins fans.
    HTTR!!!

I think it is funny that little kid Redskins fans call people hater, an outdated term. The Redskins don’t dominate their conference or even division. And when was their last playoff victory? They are losers that draft terrible, and trade away early round picks for no talent hacks.

Redskin fans will have a Terrell Buckley relationship with Rambo. He alternates great plays with complete blown coverages. Makes one great hit and whiffs on the next tackle. He is one extremely inconsistent player.

Too bad those poor draft picks got drafted by Maryland’s second team. Might actually get to experience success if they were so lucky to be drafted by the Ravens, the class of the state of Maryland.

rg3 is a chester. rgneedles is more like it. ‘Roids are bad for you. Thankfully, he had no chance at the mvp!!

  14. voiceofauthority4343 says: May 13, 2013 7:44 PM

Bruce Allen can really find the “roiders”.

  15. skinsfansince71 says: May 14, 2013 12:42 AM

Correct me if I am wrong but doesn’t the NFL have drug testing for roids. Its a shame that the Ravens won the Super Bowl last season and their fans are scared of the Redskins and their improvements.

Throw these guys right into the mix and let them start. Unless Meriweather is 100%, these 2 guys start. They are betther than the scrubs we had last year….

What improvements? Have the Redskins actually gotten a real field yet?

Ok so much wrong with wrong the post I just laughed. First off..I love how supposed NFL fans who don’t know facts and talk smack with no basis….”dont even dominate their division? Um they were 5 and 1 in the NFC east last season and won 7 striaght and the 1 loss was to the defending SB Champions on a last minute long TD when a DB fell down..Oh and since when is RG3 a “hack” and swapping 1st rd picks and given up a 4th and 2 ones is a pretty good deal for a franchise QB when all other needs left can be addressed in rds 2 through 7 like they did…Bring facts next time so ya dont look foolish!

I hope this kid Rambo works out for us.
Dyin to have a Redskins jersey with RAMBO on the back. Nothin more badass than that. Even better than Colts’ ANGERER.

Not as funny as insecure ravens fans’ obsession with the “other team in MD” despite having won their 2nd SB.

Sure, I believe you when you say that you don’t have that little man’s complex…

You confuse “obsession” with “enjoyment of trolling”.

These Baltimore Ratbird fans are really getting annoying, stay off the Skins posts and worry about your own sorry team. One lucky year (yeah, really lucky) and all of a sudden your a great team. Frankly, the Ratbirds are probably the 2nd worst franchise behind the Jags… worst uniforms, colors and name ever with the weakest fanbases and worst small market cities. The Baltimore Colts were and will always be the real team there. Couldn’t of picked a worse name… the first cousin to the Crow and awful purple and black color combo? auuugh. They look like a bad college, cfl or xfl uniform. Ray Lewis and Ed Reed are long gone, back to the factory of sadness days for Balt. Hail to the Redskins!

  24. defscottyb says: May 14, 2013 2:21 PM

Oh yeah, then they go and pay Joe Flacco (who is a decent qb) huge money just because his team got lucky and won the sb. Should of paid him what he was worth and not just going on the lucky sb win. Flacco is ok by me but the money they gave him was way out of line for the player he is. Even Ratbird fans know I’m correct on that one but won’t ever admit it. HTTR!

And this changes the what I said about fans like you how?

The sad thing is that this isn’t unique to this “fan”. Again, his team just won the SB, and he’s trolling the Skins board for fun? Get a life son.
