Bucs sign another draft pick

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have now signed four members of their 2013 draft class.

The fourth member is fourth-round defensive tackle Akeem Spence.

That leaves only two rookies unsigned:  second-round cornerback Johnathan Banks, and third-round quarterback Mike Glennon.

Of course, the Bucs didn’t have a first-round pick — because they traded it for cornerback Darrelle Revis.  In that sense, their first-round pick has been under contract for more than a month.

What’s to say? That’s exactly what they are supposed to do. Sign ’em up, lace ’em up and play some smash mouth football.

Gotta say…I’m loving the new rookie pay scale! Remember the old days when they would scramble the last week before camp started to sign all draft picks and every team had at least one high draft pick holdout throughout camp? No more…these guys are getting signed early so they can contribute right away!
