Vikings sign three more, leaving just the first rounder(s)

Sharrif Floyd, Xavier Rhodes, Cordarrelle Patterson AP

Not that any of them are necessarily hard, but the Vikings have now taken care of all the easiest contract negotiations.

The team announced they had signed fifth-round pick Jeff Locke, sixth-rounder Jeff Baca, and seventh-rounder Travis Bond.

That leaves just three of their nine picks without a contract, but the three left are the biggest ones — the trio of first-rounders including defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd, cornerback Xavier Rhodes and wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson.

They’ll have to leave MN to win a ring – just like those before them.

Now we need tokyo to tell us how terrible our first-round draft choices are and how great their gaggle of sixth- and seventh-round choices are.

3 picks from a Championship? Sweet.

And even now, their defense still isn’t best in the NFC North.

Could possibly be the first team to go 0-5 in Super Bowl.

    Let’s play!!!

@larryboodry, who’s defense is the best?!

    @ugk612:

2012 NFL defensive rankings, league-wide, for the NFC North teams:

Bears – 3rd. in points allowed, 5th. in yards
    Packers – 11th. and 11th.
    Vikes – 14th. and16th.
    Lions – 27th. and 13th.

In the division, the Bears are first in both points and yards, and GB is second in both…Your team is last in yards allowed, and next to last in points allowed.

Now, to be fair, your team played better down the stretch and made the playoffs, while my team didn’t…Only reason I mention the defense at all is an idiotic claim by a Vikes fan (vik3z) on another thread, who said “the vikes have the best defense in the nfc north…”

    C’mon, man!

It makes me laugh. The clowns that troll other boards. Being born and raised in green bay, here are a few nuggets: on average, domestic violence calls increase 54% when the packers lose, there fans buy sod for $10.00 per brick, they also buy “stock” that is worthless for $250.00 a pop and the terms “yous” as in “yous guys going out?” and “holy wah” as a description of excitement are common colloquialisms in these parts. Remember who you are dealing with when the come trolling.

And in other news: The Packers picked up 9 more running backs in free agency. 8 of them from the CFL, this brings their total running back count going into ota’s and training camp to 78. This is (according to most Packer fans) the greatest move by the best G.M. in the history of sports, Mr Ted Thompson. It should also be noted that said Packer fans are the same ones who have said over the past 5 years that running back is irrelevant in a so called “passing league”.

It wasn’t Detroit…But actually GB was 2nd. to the Bears defensively in the division last year.

Bear fans earn a certain level of begrudging respect from Packer fans. Their team has a rich history, and the Bears have achieved a degree of success.

Viking fans feel entitled to respect like it was their welfare checks.

Earn something. Even once would be enough. Then you won’t be the laughingstock of the league.

Don’t be jealous because you can’t speak Wisconics.

Why do you concern yourself with how other people spend their money?

I understand potential and what not, but its ok for people to wait and see what college players do in the NFL. I didn’t thing Cam Newton was going to be that good, great rookie year, not so great second year.

They got a potential steal in Floyd and Rhodes could be develop into a solid players. I am not sold on Patterson.

Since you all don’t share the same opinion, I will be considered a troll, and crucified for posting on a Viking thread

“Viking fans feel entitled to respect like it was their welfare checks.”

    Minnesota U.E. Rate = 5.4%

    Wisconsin U.E. Rate = 7.1%

I guess you’re right – ‘Sotans should earn something.. Like a paycheck. In addtion to working to pay for our own U.E. citizens, it is also apparent we are working to pay for uneducated drunken ‘sconnies to sit at home with their free internet and 30-packs of Old Milwaukees Best Light.

Now, go crawl back under that 600 lb. monstrosity you call your wife and dig out all the leftover cheese curds that fell into her folds last season, when she was an emotional eater after the Packers lost to the Vikings.
