New Jets running back Mike Goodson has always been known for his speed.
But it’s amazing how quickly he got off to a poor start with a new team.
According to News 12 New Jersey, Goodson was taken into custody this morning on drug possession and weapons charges.
Goodson and a companion were in a stopped SUV along a highway, and he was being taken to a nearby hospital when officers searching the vehicle found marijuana and a loaded handgun.
Signed to a $6.9 million deal this offseason, Goodson would have ostensibly been teamed with Chris Ivory in an interesting backfield pairing.
But there have been questions about whether he could be trusted going back to his days at Texas A&M, and those appear to have been appropriate.
