Bears release DT Andre Fluellen

A little more than a month after signing him, the Bears announced the release of defensive tackle Andre Fluellen on Monday.

The 28-year-old Fluellen has appeared in 56 games in five NFL seasons, notching 52 tackles and 2.5 sacks. He had stints with Miami and Detroit in 2012. The Lions drafted him in the third round in 2008 out of Florida State.

The 6-foot-2, 302-pound Fluellen has primarily been a backup interior lineman on teams employing 4-3 schemes, and it’s possible he could appeal to clubs using four-player defensive lines.

as a Lions fan I would welcome Flu back with open arms. He is a solid depth lineman.

Time to start taking out the TRASH!!
and Webb needs to be next. the O-line has to be better.. this Whole season rides on the O-line. Cutler has Marshall, Forte, Jeffery, and Bennett at TE. So he has weapons. Protect Cutler and he will take Chicago to a football game in February.

2008…Millen’s last draft. Third Round Pick, #87 overall. Has been in the league long enough to qualify for pension and probably will find a home again, this year. He’s a good depth guy.

There are far worse stories than Andre Fluellen.

He must really not be what the Bears are looking for because the Bears are short depth at DT…hopefully that means we are making room for the undrafted free agents

I figured he had a short stay when as soon as he got there the bears took 75 from him and gave it to Kyle Long!!
