Browns sign well-traveled wideout Tori Gurley

The Browns used the roster spot created by waiving quarterback Thaddeus Lewis by extending the career of a guy who has been with more than 20 percent of the league already.

According to Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, the Browns signed wide receiver Tori Gurley.

Gurley was viewed as a promising prospect, hanging around on the Packers practice squad as an undrafted rookie in 2011. Since then, he’s spent time in camp with or on the practice squads of the Vikings, Raiders, Buccaneers, Chargers and Ravens, all without appearing in an NFL game.

At some point, he should really catch up with quarterback Aaron Corp, they’d be unstoppable.

  1. Hes not the first guy to bounce around on 4 or 5 teams before getting a shot to prove himself in a game. LB James Harrison was undrafted and was cut by multiple teams before landing in Pittsburgh and making something of himself.

Ted Thompson may not be the best draft guy in the business but I guarantee hes one of the top 5 GMs when it comes to finding useable talent.

  2. Red, you are another one of those jealous fans whose team is not named the Green Bay Packers? You just hate that the Packers are good every year and have had great QBs for 20 years? lol. You need to get over that. I think the Packers are going to be around for awhile.

  3. So the Browns have a Gurley receiver. Wow, done in by a name. I actually knew a Doris Peed, which I know got her picked on her entire childhood.

  4. Yet another incredible signing by the best franchise in the NFL.

Go Browns !!! Super Bowl bound !!!

This one was for Darin (The Censor-Man) Gantt.

  5. WHo cares if his first and last name are both kinda “girly”, as long as he can catch off the mark footballs from Weeden he’s all good in my book. Nice sized receiver, may be the next Calvin Johnson.?
