NFL pushes draft back two weeks, only major change

Well, now we know how much later the draft will be next year.

The league just posted a “save the date” card on its Facebook page, informing fans the 2014 NFL Draft will be held May 8-10, 2014, at New York’s Radio City Music Hall.

That’s two weeks later than this year’s, after they initially considered pushing it back three weeks.

Picking that weekend might have been a tacit concession to the push-back from all the football types who have complained about the later start, by making it slightly shorter than it could have been.

The league has also announced that the Scouting Combine would be held Feb. 18-25, with the league year starting March 11, keeping everything in place.

That means that other than two weeks more for mock drafts and hype, everything else stays the same, for now.
