The Jets, who could use a little more wide receiver depth, conducted a workout for veteran wideout Derek Hagan this week, Adam Caplan of TheSidelineView.com and Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun reported Thursday.

The 28-year-old Hagan caught 20 passes for 259 yards in 14 games (two starts) with Oakland in 2012. A third-round pick of Miami in 2006, Hagan has also appeared in regular-season games for the Dolphins, Giants and Bills. Overall, he has caught 129 passes for 1,480 yards and six TDs in seven NFL seasons.

Earlier, there was anĀ erroneousĀ report of a Hagan workout with the Raiders on Wednesday.

    Solid pro with good hands.

It sucks he can’t stick with a team.

He kinda reminds me of Jason Avant… he’s not gonna outrun you or out jump you, but he catches absolutely everything and finds ways to make things happen. Very dependable.

A solid possession guy. But your right Goraiders gospurs, this is a weird relationship our beloved Raiders have with Hagan.

Find a way to keep him, Reg! A veteran-min contract will give you depth when Ford/Moore, et al get hurt and he’ll wind up hurt when they heal up…smooth transition! I like the guy and he’d be a solid possession man if he could stay out of the trainer’s room.

The Hagan post is updated. The Raiders’ workout reference is removed — looks to be erroneous. – Mike

T.O.? He is what, 40? Hagan is solid.

Hagan is very reliable. I don’t understand why he’s unemployed. He catches everything thrown his way.

as most have said solid guy, but not really much upside…for raiders there is so much upside with guys like streater, criner, ford, moore , brice, etc….so i think for raiders the weird relationship is because guys like ford, moore dhb all got injured last year, so they went to a familiar face.

I like hagan, but would rather see them develop these kids, along with Cribbs as a vet.

Also word is A. Holmes has a legit shot to make roster as well.

    T.O.? What? Why?

If the JETS sign this guy I can’t wait to see who emerges out of this WR competition.

So far its Jeremy Kerley vs Stephen Hill vs Santonio Holmes vs Clyde Gates vs Jordan White vs Derek Hagan (maybe) vs Zach Rogers vs Ryan Spadola

It should be a good competition lets make this happen.
