Steelers offensive tackle Mike Adams has been hospitalized in Pittsburgh after he was stabbed early this morning.

According to a statement released by the team, Adams was the victim of an apparent robbery attempt on Pittsburgh’s South Side.

“We are aware of the situation regarding Mike Adams being stabbed earlier this morning,” Steelers General Manager Kevin Colbert said. “We are in direct communication with both Mike and his family. Mike is expected to make a full recovery.”

No other details about the stabbing have been released. Adams wrote on Twitter that he feels fortunate to have made it out of the incident alive.

“I had an angel lookin out for me! Ill be ok just gotta fight to get back harder then ever,” Adams wrote.

The 23-year-old Adams was the Steelers’ second-round draft pick last year and started six games as a rookie.
