When Andy Reid was the coach of the Eagles, the team had a habit of swinging draft-day trades with the Patriots.

Reid is no longer in Philly, but Bill Belichick still likes working with the Eagles. The Eagles announced Tuesday that they will have two days of joint practices with the Patriots during training camp ahead of the preseason game between the two teams on August 9. Season ticket holders will be randomly invited to visit the practices, which will take place on August 6 and 7 at the Eagles’ facility.

It’s the first time the Eagles have held joint practices with another team since working out with the Bills in 1998. The Patriots have gone that route more frequently, including sets of practices with both the Saints and the Buccaneers last season.

Belichick is on record as being a big fan of working with other teams during training camp, citing the ability to do things that are impossible when you’re practicing on your own. Chip Kelly’s sure to have a few wrinkles that the Patriots haven’t seen, although it remains to be seen just how much he’ll reveal during this summer’s sessions.
