The 49ers have signed rookie outside linebacker Corey Lemonier to a four-year contract, the NFL disclosed in its Monday transactions. He was the club’s third-round pick (No. 88 overall).
The 6-foot-3, 255-pound Lemonier will play outside linebacker in the 49ers’ 3-4 front and seems likely to provide depth behind starters Aldon Smith and Ahmad Brooks in his first NFL season.
Lemonier, 21, notched 5.5 sacks at defensive end for Auburn in 2012. He declared for the draft with one season of eligibility remaining. His most productive season came as a sophomore, when he notched 44 tackles and 9.5 sacks for the Tigers.
