The Vikings’ Mt. Rushmore will be revealed on Monday’s edition of Pro Football Talk on NBCSN and we have one of the franchise’s biggest stars joining us for the unveiling.

Former quarterback Fran Tarkenton will be on the show and will likely be finding out that he’s one of the four faces of the franchise since he and Adrian Peterson have been jockeying for the top spot in voting. We’ll find out which other players Tarkenton thinks belong in the organizational firmament and listen as Tarkenton shares some of his memories of life as the quarterback of the Vikings.

Erik Kuselias, Mike Florio, Pete Najarian and Ross Tucker will all be on hand to talk about the results of voting for the Vikings and they’ll also be sharing the first look at the Mt. Rushmore for the Lions. We haven’t seen the official voting results just yet, but it’s probably a safe bet that Barry Sanders will be one of the four Lions named to the virtual landmark.

It all gets started at 5 p.m. ET on NBC Sports Network.

On the radio today Florio said that Alan Page is struggling to get into the top four. Didn’t anyone over the age of 25 vote in that poll?

Fran Tarkenton is the perfect symbolic player for the Vikings. If he is known for anything, its his inability to win the big game, a choke artist is another term for him.

But let’s give him credit for actually making it as far as the Superbowl before he chokes, the more modern day Vikings choke in the NFC championship games, 0-5 in the last five they played in. That is more efficient, they figure they can’t win the big game so let’s get an early start on the off season.

If Fran is on the vikings molehill rushmore, then why is he never invited back, never shows at any viking event, and never steps foot in Minnesota?

What is the reason for the schism and why is it so deep and wide?
