Apparently, there’s a player at the Patriots’ minicamp who looks a lot like receiver Jabar Gaffney.

Ben Volin of the Boston Globe reports Gaffney is present at the minicamp.  A source with knowledge of the situation tells PFT that Gaffney isn’t.

The confusion is understandable.  Per Mike Reiss of, several non-roster players are participating at the minicamp, but their identities aren’t immediately known.

An original draft pick of thew Texans in 2002, Gaffney spent three seasons with the Patriots, from 2006 through 2008.  In 2012, he appeared in three games with the Dolphins.

If you don’t believe in miracles, consider that Jabar Gaffney has been in the league since 2002.

I’m not surprised. I didn’t even realize Gaffney was on the team until I read this article.

Belichik is such a genius! Stirring up a phony Gaffney story to distract the media from Tebomamia. I bet he even somehow parleys this into a pick, which he can trade for more pics and then improve to 18-0-1. All hail the Hooded One!
