49ers sign wide receiver Brandon Carswell

With Michael Crabtree out for the forseeable future with a torn Achilles and Mario Manningham questionable for the start of the season while recovering from a torn ACL, the San Francisco 49ers have found themselves somewhat short at the wide receiver position.

Despite the recent step forward from second-year player A.J. Jenkins, the 49ers still are looking to add to the position. They did so Wednesday with the signing of former Oakland Raiders receiver Brandon Carswell.

Carswell signed a two-year deal with San Francisco. The team terminated the contract of tight end Cameron Morrah in order to make room for Carswell on the roster.

Carswell signed with the Raiders as an undrafted free agent out of USC last season. He was released by the Raiders at the end of training camp and spent limited time on the team’s practice squad. Carswell caught 40 passes for 386 yards and two touchdowns during his time at USC.

The Seahawks are now looking for a mediocre Stanford WR to counter this brazen move by the 49ers…

So how many number 1 receivers do they have now?

Brandon Browner, Antione Winfield, Richard Sherman, Walter Thurmond, Earl Thomas, and Kam Bam Chancellor are all shaking in their boots now! How’s Vernon recovering from that hit by the way? Well the good news is he would have never got rocked sensless if it wasn’t for the adderall right? Yes, that was a troll comment. See you folks week 2 back at the clink.

Vernon was in the air and he got up right after the hit, its not like he knocked him out like donte did. niners will be rested and injury free week 2 so I doubt it will be the same result. go ahead and hang your hat on your regular season superbowl win week 16

Funny how much noise the Seachicken fans make with one win over the Niners last year…what they don’t seem to realize is Harbaugh has beat Pete (the cheat) Carol like a drum for the last 5 years….that lone win was a fluke…wont happen again …im more concerned with the Rams…in a few years….GO NINERS
