ProFootballTalk: Green Bay Packers Mt. Rushmore

The Packers have such an immense legacy that it was extremely hard to Mike Florio to narrow his list down to just four names. Florio chose Don Hutson, Bart Starr, Curly Lambeau and of course Vince Lombardi. The fans of PFT also had Lombardi and Starr on their Mt.Rushmore, but voted in Brett Favre and Reggie White.

  1. Favre should definitely be up there, despite what grudges some bitter “Packer Fans” may hold. He was the main piece in the puzzle that brought the Packers back to NFL prominence and he holds all the major QB records out there.

Reggie White, though great, was not a Packer long enough IMO.

  2. As amazing as White was, and he was that, most of his dominant years were with two other franchises. The fans somehow didn’t vote in the team founder and long time, multi-championship winning coach.

  3. I totally agree with the panel’s picks. The founder of the team, the best coach, the best player and the most clutch and reliable leader we ever had. Starr was my favorite Packer of all time.

  4. I’m still mad at Favre, even though I know it’s irrational. But he does belong there. He was by far the greatest Packer of our generation.
