Jags release two, including Austen Lane

Maybe they heard the Patriots were about to cut some players, and they’re just making room.

The Jaguars announced that they had released defensive end Austen Lane and cornerback Trey Wilson Thursday.

Lane, a former fifth-round pick, started 17 games in three seasons with the Jags, registering three sacks.

He was going to struggle to make the roster this year with a scheme change, which included Tyson Alualu taking snaps at defensive end.

I thought he was a sleeper coming out of college, would like to see the Lions take a look at him.

Isn’t being released from Jacksonville reward enough?

actually bigrig, if you get cut by the jaguars, then you have no business playing in the NFL. Lane was supposed to be good, but the guy never could stay healthy and now with a scheme change, he needs to look for another home if he can even find one… a 4th year veteran with only 17 starts isnt good
