And on the third day of the Tim Tebow Era, Bill Belichick saw that it was good, so the Patriots rested.

The Patriots boss decided they had done enough work for the spring, and canceled today’s final minicamp practice, according to Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald.

Players came in for morning meetings, and were informed of the schedule change. That wraps up their football work until training camp opens in late July.

Asked Wednesday about the progress they had made, Belichick replied: “A lot further along, made a lot of progress since then. Now, we have a long way to go.”

As if following his mentor’s cue, Buccaneers coach Greg Schiano also decided to start vacation a day early, sending his players to a movie instead of another practice.

While that might excuse players from a little work on the field, it also starts the time of year coaches are most worried about — when players are unsupervised before the start of training camp.
