The Bills have signed rookie quarterback EJ Manuel, the club said Friday.

The only quarterback selected in the first round of the 2013 NFL Draft, Manuel will compete with Kevin Kolb for the Bills’ starting job. Buffalo released Tarvaris Jackson earlier this week, a signal that the club’s QB decision will come down to going with the experienced Kolb or giving Manuel the starting role right from the get-go.

According to PFT’s Mike Florio, Manuel’s contract is fully guaranteed.

Manuel, who starred at Florida State, completed 263-of-387 passes for 3,392 yards with 23 touchdowns and 10 interceptions as a senior in 2012.

The Bills now have their entire 2013 draft class under contract, the club said.
