Cowboys make some moves in personnel department

AP

As is customary for teams this time of year, the Cowboys made some scouting moves, giving a promotion to protect one of their own.

According to Todd Archer of ESPNDallas.com, the Cowboys are promoting Will McClay to assistant director of player personnel, and naming Tom Ciskowski director of scouting.

Ciskowski was already their assistant director of player personnel, so this makes for a cleaner business card.

McClay was apparently pursued by the Browns and Chiefs this offseason, with the Cowboys refusing permission to interview him.

McClay was previously in pro personnel, and added the title director of football research last year. He was also the head coach of the Arena League’s Dallas Desperados of the AFL from 2004 to 2008.

  1. Yeah in the last few years they’ve only gotten players like Sean Lee, Bruce Carter, Dez Bryant, Morris Claiborne, Tyron Smith, Demarco Murray, Anthony Spencer, and Miles Austin. You’re right, they’re terrible at drafting. Way to be well informed

  2. These personal moves still won’t make a difference at all. no news here move along.

And yet they have won how many playoff games? Just saying!!!! LOL LMAO Cowgirls suck!!!!!!

  4. The Cowboys of recent seem to do ok with drafting skill position in the top 3 Rds but the true test is how well you draft 3-7. They just don’t seem to find those blue collar contributors like they did when Parcells was in the war room.

Canty, Hatcher, Bowen, Ratliff, etc..you can’t keep them all so you better be able to draft them like Baltimore does.
