Gone fishin’

For most teams, the offseason program has ended.  Which means that it’s time for the annual month or so of things not being as hectic as they usually are.

Which means I’m going to go yank some living things out of their freshwater homes with a barbed steel hook.  (I’ll throw them back.  Unless they can sing.)

But fear not.  Others are on duty today, and I’ll be back later tonight and back behind the keyboard tomorrow.

For plenty of you, not having me posting for the bulk of the day could be a selling point.

Regardless, I won’t be thinking about any of you for the rest of the day.  Starting . . . . now.

    me too.

I’m headed up to a lake way north in Minnesota for a couple of weeks, north of Grand Rapids. I’m told the ice finally melted on May 20th.

I’m going to leave the darn computer at home.

    Peace to you,

I just want to know what kind of fish that is in the pic. Sure isn’t a walleye. Looks like some sort or toothy eel

For a second there. I thought, I clicked on the wrong website. Wasn’t exactly sure that the pic was of a fish exactly.

I guess for someone like me that has been following this blog since almost its inception I kind of am grateful for Florio. This site kind of pioneered the whole concept of reporting not just news but rumor, gossip and innuendo and did it without apology and sparing noone’s feelings. Since it went mainstream obviously it isn’t as much fun like it used to be. But since this blog went up, journalists were then forced to start telling the stories the teams didn’t want us to hear and not just rely on the PR department of the football team for their info. If they hadnt no one would be listening to them anymore. Whether you like Florio or not you have to admit he changed the landscape of how sports news is reported. Whether its for the good or bad is your choice. Me? I have found this site entertaining for years and have been under no illusions (nor did Florio ever claim) that his was a traditional news outlet. And that is just fine with me….
