Bon Jovi concert at Browns’ FirstEnergy Stadium cancelled

The Browns announced Monday that a Bon Jovi concert scheduled for July 14 at Cleveland’s FirstEnergy Stadium has been cancelled.

No reason for the cancellation of the “Fan Kickoff Concert” was given. The Browns directed ticket holders to seek refunds from the outlets from which the tickets were purchased.  [Editor’s note:  That’s refund.  Not rebate.  Refund.]

News of the concert’s cancellation comes a little less than three weeks after the show was unveiled.

FirstEnergy Stadium was formerly known as Cleveland Browns Stadium, where the club has played since returning to NFL play in 1999.

Looks like someone told Bon Jovi he’d actually have to go to Cleveland for the gig.

They are now reporting the real reason for the cancellation, someone at Pilot FlyingBrowns HQ just realized it wasn’t the 1980’s anymore…

Anyone who actually thought that concert was going to happen was “living on a prayer”.

Actually, Jon and Richie are fighting like kids right now, so I wouldn’t be surprised if more shows get canceled.

What would be the more useful refund, coughing back up that Bon Jovi bread or the same for the Browns season tickets? You make the call!

I feel bad for those 11 fans that are going to miss this concert.

Cleveland’s first win of the season!!!!

  17. steelerben says: Jun 17, 2013 12:23 PM

The concert was cancelled because they decided being a Browns fan was punishment enough. No need to add insult to injury by making them watch Bon Jovi.

They just learned that Bon Jovi passed away several years ago, but no one noticed.

Brandon Weeden is a big Bon Jovi fan. He was 21 when Slippery When Wet was released.

  24. peytonfavrecircus says: Jun 17, 2013 12:50 PM

It’s not like it was Rush concert!

On a separate thought, when the subject is bailing from Cleveland, it always reminds me of the John Candy comedy “Delirious”.

Jack Gable: What are you doing here? I sent you to Cleveland.
Jack Gates: I should kill you for that alone.

if you want the concert just go to the drug treatment facility Sambora will be going to.

  27. rcali says: Jun 17, 2013 1:02 PM

Hope these people didn’t buy their tickets from TicketCrapster. You get no refunds for their service fees and such.

  28. incineratr says: Jun 17, 2013 1:24 PM

Well, I guess Cleveland will have to settle for the sh*tty Kenny Chesney concert.

  29. scoops1 says: Jun 17, 2013 1:25 PM

Can’t drew carey fill in for Sambora???

  30. hatesycophants says: Jun 17, 2013 1:38 PM

How does anyone know or care what “Jon and Richie” are doing right now?

  31. seaeagle707 says: Jun 18, 2013 12:35 AM

If Pilot Flying J did the hiring, it may be that BJ doesn’t want to get caught up in a federal investigation.

  32. gallogj says: Jun 19, 2013 12:55 PM

The first good decision the new Regime made! If they keep this up we might get 5 wins this year!
