Chad Greenway has no doubt he’ll be ready for camp

Chad Greenway, Nate Triplett AP

Vikings linebacker Chad Greenway had arthroscopic surgery on his left knee last week, an operation that is keeping him on the sideline during this week’s minicamp.

The minicamp marks the end of the Vikings’ offseason schedule and the team will be off until the start of training camp after Thursday’s practice. Greenway couldn’t give a 100 percent guarantee that he’d be on the field for the first practice of training camp, but he did say that any absence will have nothing to do with surgery he had in June to avoid the possibility of his meniscus causing him more problems when the regular season is right around the corner.

“There will be no doubt in my mind unless I get in a car accident or something. From the knee perspective, it’ll be 100 percent, good to go,” Greenway said, via 1500ESPN.com. “I didn’t want to be that guy in training camp or Week 1 saying, ‘Oh, I’ve got to miss two.’ That’s not my mentality. I’d rather, unfortunately, miss these practices in order to get ready for the season. Just kind of felt like it was the right thing to do.”

We’d agree with that assessment. Greenway’s a vital part of the Vikings defense and the minicamp time is relatively insignificant to a player who hasn’t missed a game in the last six seasons.

Something about the vikes with zero superbowl titles…figured I’d get it out of the way before the trolls come running.

The team doc’s have the knowhow, technology, & tools to rebuild any injured player w/out having to throw meds at ‘em.
Hence, Mr. Bishop eagerly awaits his interview.

It begs the question why he waited till the 2nd week of June to have the surgery when the Viking’s season ended last January?

Could it be that it is worse than he previously thought? The Vikings aren’t deep at LB, that’s why they are scavenging around other team’s trash heaps looking for help.

The wheels are already starting to come off the Superbowl Express bandwagon. Normally, a fan base couldn’t feel good about this news but we are talking about delusional Viking fans here so they will pronounce this as no big deal.

This alone should be a warning sign to management that our LB position is dangerously thin.

He’s going to have a big year. I’m predicting 12 sacks, 15 FF, and 280 tackles.

Doesn’t get the recognition he deserves. Best linebacker in the NFL!

If he played for the Packers, they would have cut him by now.

    He’ll be fine.

Also, you gotta love how the team with 9 fake championship can’t stop talking about how the Vikings aren’t going to win the Super Bowl this year and their team is going to win fake #14.

Just like how they can’t stop complaining about the Vikings, but also still can’t stop talking about the Vikings. They absolutely hate them, yet can’t stop talking about them. Oh, but the Bears are still their biggest rival, for some reason.

If he’s the best linebacker in the NFL, the rest of that defense must be some of the worst at their respective positions.

I believe the Yikes were ranked 16th in defense last year. Correct me if I’m reading that incorrectly.

Nothing like an Aaron Rodgers story to bring out the Viking trolls in droves. To give Ted Thompson pointers on how to structure a salary cap no less, how thoughtful of them.

Keep in mind is that its the off season. The off season is an annual ritual of three events; Free Agency, the draft, and Viking trolls claiming activity in the first two is sure to deliver a Superbowl. Give them credit for consistency, they’ve been wrong for 52 straight years and counting.

    ===================================

Now really whatjusthapped, who is trolling who’s stories? It is the offseason and a minor surgery is just that. Minor. More laughable is how you want to pay attention to our lb corp when the Packers have such a weak offensive line. I do not feel the need to spam this truth all over a Packers story thread whereas your quips always show up under a Vikings story thread. Greenway will be fine there child……………….

Greenway is a key ingredient in the hapless, tasteless Viking’s quest to not win their first fake championship again this year for the 54th year in a row.

We wish him the very best as he works to resume his mediocre career.

“unless I get in a car accident or something…” So I guess he’ll be staying off the roads whenever Peterson is out street-racing.

    _____

Shows what you know! This will be our 53rd year in a row to not win a championship!

But I’d rather never win a championship than be a self-important Packer fan whose life revolves around the team he roots for.

Viking fans are small people, living small lives, subjugated to the giant shadow of the Green Bay Packers.

Hilarious it is of the GB dildos that post. Genealogy wise GB skanks have the easiest history to research since there are no branches on the tree.

How original!!! A Packer fan brings up the word championship again instead of the words super bowl champions. Got news for the uneducated retards like you……

    Minnesota Vikings 1969 NFL champions.

    Look it up….. :-)

You have to trust the vikings medical staff. They only had one player die in training camp.
