Report: Evidence puts Hernandez with dead “associate” on evening of murder

061813debatesc005A.JPG AP

Earlier today, Tom Curran of CSN New England gave an ominous assessment of the manner in which the investigation regarding a death of Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez’s “associate” could unfold.

It’s apparently unfolding.

The victim has officially been identified as 27-year-old Odin Lloyd, and his death has been ruled a homicide.  According to FOX 25 in Boston, police have determined that four men — including Hernandez and Odin Lloyd — were in a vehicle together after leaving a bar, and that only three of the men returned to Hernandez’s home.

Per the report, and supplemented by tweets from Ted Daniel of FOX 25, forensic evidence collected by police places a vehicle “driven by” Hernandez at the “crime scene.”  It’s unclear whether the crime scene was the location where Lloyd’s body was found, or whether the crime (i.e., the site of Lloyd’s murder) occurred elsewhere.

FOX 25 also reports that Lloyd sent a text to a friend referring to Hernandez.

Our mildly-educated guess is that more evidence of text messages and other electronically-created footprints will be used to further piece together the puzzle.

And the car that Hernandez was driving was left a few blocks away from the scene ??? Alittle strange. Makes u wonder wat made them stop driving n how’d they get back to Hernandez house. If law stands everyone around the scene goes down. Jail Time Aaron?

Not looking good for him if this is true. As a Pats fan I am disappointed but I’ve been pretty disgusted with pro athletes for awhile now. But this transcends football. A man is dead and his family is left grieving.

Back to the investigation, where did the second vehicle come from? You have one driven home by Hernandez and one left at the scene. Unless they walked home afterwards which doesn’t make much sense. Then again, none of this really makes sense.

  98. bigjimatch says: Jun 20, 2013 12:13 AM

He seemed pretty mild-mannered but between this alleged situation and the alleged one that just came out about him allegedly shooting some other dude in his alleged face…It’s not looking good.

  104. djohnson11882 says: Jun 20, 2013 12:27 AM

You can tell Tim Tebow is a Patriot. ESPN, who is usually very unconcerned with having facts before reporting on things, is only spending 30 seconds saying that Hernandez’s associate was found dead near a car rented by Hernandez. If Tebow was still a Jet they would be trying to get Hernandez to try on a glove in front of the rental car, with the chalk line of the victim in the background. Funny how the reporting changes when they don’t want to lose access to the biggest media circus in all of sports. If the police were smart they would raid Belichick’s office, I’m sure they would find tape of the whole incident:)

  105. apkyletexas says: Jun 20, 2013 12:29 AM

The League will figure out a way to make this go away, or at least let him get work-release on Sundays to play.
The League ALWAYS caters to the Patriots. Last year they gave them the easiest schedule and made most of their home games in the later part of the season.
Last year and this year, the Patriots don’t play any teams coming off of a ‘Buy’ week, while teams like the Bills compete against 5 teams this season coming off their ‘Buy’ weeks, all refreshed and healed.
This, and the way they coddle Ms. Brady, calling penalties against the defense if a player comes within 5 yards of her. Even giving her a dirty look will draw a flag.
The League will find a way to protect Mr. Kraft’s interests and the new ‘America’s Team’.

I am a pats fan. I think that this situation is just sad and reflects the lack of judgement, respect and decency we are losing as a society, more than it reflects on the Pats.

I think that no matter how this unfolds, Hernandez is gone before the start of 2014. I think with his injury history and now off field issues, BB cannot count on him and that will lead to his being traded, unless of course he is in jail.

If he was involved he should go to jail and pay the consequences of his actions.

The Pats will field a team and find a way to use those 11 offensive players to help them win games. That’s what they do. It is just sad that so many young lives are destroyed from this one incident.

  213. vibesid says: Jun 20, 2013 8:54 AM

Hernandez’s former pal Alexander Bradley filed a federal lawsuit against the grid star yesterday, claiming Hernandez blasted him in the face, the plaintiff’s lawyer said.

“They were friends — he was a personal assistant, he did a little of everything for him,” Bradley’s lawyer, David Jaroslawicz, told The Post. “They went down there for some R&R.”
Bradley, a 32-year-old Connecticut resident, says he had been partying with Hernandez, 23, at Tootsie’s strip club in Miami on Feb. 13 when they got into an argument.

In the car, Hernandez allegedly took out his unregistered gun and fired at Bradley, striking him in the right arm and eye. Bradley says he lost his right eye and has gone under the knife several times to fix his badly damaged face and arm.

“Hernandez was holding the gun and it went off and hit my client,” Jaroslawicz said. “I’m sure he’ll say it was an accident.”

Palm Beach County sheriff’s deputies found Bradley in an alley, shot in the head, but he told investigators he didn’t know who attacked him, officials said.

If it was a drug deal, than even if Hernandez was innocent in regards to the murder, that would explain why the delicate situation because if he admitted to going to buy drugs he’d be suspended by the league and in Belichick’s doghouse.

Definitely more than meets the eye in this case, will be interesting to see what the chain of events were.

    ________________________________

Its easy to mindlessly hate isn’t it ? If you actually knew what you were talking about you’d know that Pats under Belichick are among the teams with the fewest arrests virtually every year. Including at least a couple of years where the Pats had ZERO players arrested. There’s nothing “Patriot way” about this and even if he’s not convicted of anything he’ll likely be cut with the Pats going after his signing bonus.

You don’t like the team fine, but at least be informed in your hatred.

Not looking good for Hernandez though. How stupid can a guy be to get involved in something like this when he had everything a person could want.

Even if one of his buddies was the actual murderer at that point you just call the cops and report what happened and distance yourself from it. People do such stupid things when panic sets in and Hernandez is likely going to pay in a big way over this one.

What if after leaving the bar they tried to buy some drugs, and the deal went sour and that’s how the guy got killed. Of course that doesn’t explain why his body wasn’t in the car, unless everyone else fled out of fear for their safety.

    ***************************************

Seriously? Not too many times people are going to get shot trying to buy some weed. If it was some major deal, it certainly would not have been with total strangers and it certainly would not have been on some corner some where.

I lived that life for the better part of a decade, and things like that just don’t happen.

Even if it was a situation like that, Hernandez SHOULD HAVE instantly called police and an ambulance, don’t you think?

And if you look at a comment above, where they are talking about Hernandez shooting his friend in Florida, he left him there as well.

This guy is a POS and deserves to be behind bars.

You guys have short memories. All he has to do is get Ray Lewis’s lawyer, play 14 more years, cry when the camera’s are on him,,,and get a great job with ESPN.

    Simple!!

Why is it so hard to imagine that a team that endorsed cheating for 7 years and then got the Commish to destroy the evidence would have a murderer on its payroll? When you have no accountability, then you start to think you can get away with anything.

I remember last year he became a father and I thought he was turning himself around, but I guess we really don’t know celebrities. Doesn’t look good so far but innocent until proven guilty, okay Florio?

  250. planethumphrey says: Jun 20, 2013 11:42 AM

Well he’s innocent until proven guilty. Everytime I see news about this I think about Ray Lewis and how we want our receivers to be robbers and our linebackers to be murderers. Not the other way around. It pisses me off when these professionals hang with shady people, it’s like they want to be gangsta still but they don’t need to be.

  251. redsoxu571 says: Jun 20, 2013 11:42 AM

Someone above compared Hernandez to Rae Carruth…no offense to the victim here, but even if Hernandez was the one who pulled the trigger that doesn’t make him Rae Carruth…Carruth might be the most despicable person in sports history.

  252. bullcharger says: Jun 20, 2013 11:49 AM

To me he’s either a murderer or an accesory to murder unless somehow none of the 3 guys committed the crime. Like a drug deal gone bad where the dealer shot the guy and they all took off.

The car being left at the scene is puzzling. Maybe it’s the “If I did it, why would I leave my car at the scene” defense.

What ever happens, I think he’s going to jail for something. Even if he cuts a deal.

    It’s a shame.

I wonder if the team or the league knew about the previous incident that created the lawsuit. The Patriots should have already cut him if he really shot someone in the face and he wouldn’t be the teams problem right now.

    ==============================
When you’re buying drugs, you’re not always dealing with reputable people. Sometimes people (either the buyer or the dealer) will pull a gun so they can get all the drugs AND the money for free. Not saying it happened in this case, but it’s possible since we don’t know what happened.

To your point, that doesn’t explain why Hernandez didn’t call the police or an ambulance, if he was in fact there at the time of the shooting. If he’s arrested, I’m sure they were able to triangulate his position using cell phone, in conjunction with victims location, to see if he was in fact in the vicinity when the victim was shot.

He very well could have done it, or been involved. It would seem to be very stupid of him to murder someone when he has so much to lose. But people do stupid things, can’t write it off.

Well, he’s a Patriot, so some old rule will be dug up to clear him. I’m sure the NFL is working on it. I hear the attorney he hired is named Walt Coleman, go figure.
