Jim Kelly won’t need chemotherapy treatment

Jim Kelly AP

Doctors were optimistic about Jim Kelly’s cancer surgery the moment it was completed, and the optimism continues.

According to John Kucko of WROC News 8, Kelly won’t need chemotherapy or radiation after having surgery to remove the cancer and part of his jaw.

Tests after the surgery revealed his cancer did not spread.

That’s good news for the Hall of Fame quarterback, and the hope is the news continues to stay positive.

    Great news!!! Get well soon!!!

Thank you Buffalo Bills, given all the problems with the rest of the sad-sack division.

Good luck, Jim. A valiant QB who was a worthy opponent for the Redskins.

That’s good news…..to be taken with a grain of salt. It’s surprising his doctors aren’t going with chemo/radiation treatments just to be sure it’s gone.

I’m really at a loss trying to understand this. Are these hundreds of “thumbs down” from people who are wanting to see Jim Kelly die from cancer? Or maybe this is their twisted idea of “humor?” When you wake up on a Sunday morning and log onto a sit just to vote “thumbs down” on a story like this, you have more problems than Jim Kelly.

I believe it really has more to do the user name logicailvoicesays – and his overzealous Redskins comments.

It is good news that Jim will not need chemotherapy or radiation. However, my husband had lung cancer and after the first surgery and being told that he didn’t need chemo or radiation, the cancer returned in a couple of years. He had another surgery and this time had the chemo but it did not help. He succumbed to the cancer. Had he had the chemo the first time, would he have survived? I don’t know but it would have been great to have tried it and it WORKED!!!
