Eagles running back LeSean McCoy has said that he doesn’t care about the team’s quarterback controversy. McCoy reiterated his lack of interest on Saturday, before his annual charity softball game.
“That’s why they pay Chip Kelly the big bucks, to pick the quarterback,” McCoy said, via Zach Berman of the Philadelphia Inquirer. “Whoever he picks, I’m fine with. As long as I get my carries, I don’t care who they pick.”
The finalists are Mike Vick and Nick Foles. Players like Vick and DeSean Jackson have said they want Kelly to make a decision before training camp. Guard Evan Mathis has said he wants Kelly to take his time.
The event, which raises money for ALS research, drew nearly 5,000 fans, according to Reuben Frank of CSNPhilly.com.
“It made me feel good,” McCoy said of the event. “The biggest thing was the support of so many people who played and came out also the fans. Which makes this whole thing go.
“Sometimes people get it all mixed up. The fans keep the NFL and keep everything going. Excited everybody came out and showed a lot of love and raised a ton of money.”
McCoy lost his grandmother, Maryann Branch, to ALS in 2010.
