Geno still won’t say if he’s camping with Sanchez

Mark Sanchez, Geno Smith AP

As it pertains to attending teammate Mark Sanchez’s Jets West camp this summer, Geno Smith has gone from playing dumb to playing coy.

After initially causing a stir by giving a “no comment,” which he later attributed to a lack of knowledge, Smith still isn’t saying.

Asked Monday on the NFL Network if he planned to attend the players only workouts Sanchez organizes each year in California, Smith replied “We’ll see.”

Whether the new kid at school goes to Sanchez’s sleepover really isn’t that big a deal, and shouldn’t have been.

But a refusal to provide a straight answer has made it something that will only draw more questions, if not a stakeout.

I’m starting to wonder whether the jets are actually a circus or you guys have a tendency to blow everything out of proportion.

Did anyone ask if he’s been invited?

Jets West = Wast of time

What’s wrong with, “We’ll see.” ? Seems like a reasonable thing to say. If he didn’t play for the Jets I’d say I’m starting to feel bad for the guy.

Any answer the writers can’t attack is a thorn in their side.

Geno Smith, from this story and others, plainly doesn’t have to play dumb because obviously he is dumb.

if he says yes, he will make himself uncomfortable, because obviously him and Sanchez are not homeboys. If he says no, then the hypocritical media will pounce all over it like a feline. The kid can’t win and I don’t blame him for saying we’ll see.

He should just say he is going over to Aaron Hernandez’s house to camp out there with the locals.

Geno is not a receiver, so why would Sanchez invite the guy trying to take his job? I’m not a fan of Smith, but the media needs to lay off him on this one. If you are looking for something to write about, don’t make noise about Smith’s answers; instead try asking Sanchez why he hasn’t invited Smith.

    kumbaya everyone!!!!

Sanchez can’t handle playing in NY. Too much pressure for a small time Cali boy. Go back to the valley!

  13. eatitfanboy says: Jun 25, 2013 9:28 AM

Is it possible that he actually just hadn’t decided?

Not everyone is lying all the time.

Does anyone aside from jets sufferers really care???

I feel bad for Geno Smith. He’s in a bad situation. He wasn’t drafted to be groomed in behind Sanchez. They selected him because Sanchez proved to be inconsistent and ineffective. They need to either inform Sanchez that it is highly unlikely that he will be the starting quarterback or cut him.

It’s no big deal, I think you guys are just desperately trying to make it out like he is a diva. Let him learn the playbook on his own,why would he want to be at his camp with a bunch of players who support Mark Sanchez? Geno can’t be buddy buddy with him until he wins the job.

  17. zeke2517 says: Jun 25, 2013 10:12 AM

I, for one, think we should make a big deal about this.

  19. larry321 says: Jun 25, 2013 11:35 AM

Can it be possibly be that he’s actually undecided?

  20. schmitty2 says: Jun 25, 2013 11:40 AM

Maybe Geno should hold a camp and invite Sanchez?

It’s funny how these reporters blow everything out of proportion. Gregg popavich , Phil Jackson, bill B., etc all never speak to the media Rly and get praised. This young kid opens his mouth when he 1st gets drafted and the media calls him a diva, mememe type, then he give you guys the opposite and now he’s not being str8 forward?!?! I honestly dnt get what he’s done wrong for him to have such a bad rep. In the media. He hasn’t even played a down!! I’m Rly rootin for this kid to be special!!

  22. aldavis4president says: Jun 25, 2013 11:44 AM

Oh and Aaron Hernandez has been shootin ppl in the face since college but not 1peep. Ridiculous.

No pink box of candy for you Geno.

  24. pisano says: Jun 27, 2013 12:50 PM

If Geno’s smart, he’ll stay as far away from this loser as he can get, after this year Sanchez is history in NY anyway.

Better go now he won’t be in the league 4 years from now. Terrible attitude
