Ravens’ Bernard Pierce robbed at gunpoint, carjacked

Ravens running back Bernard Pierce is described as shaken but not injured after he was robbed at gunpoint and carjacked on Sunday in Philadelphia.

CBS 3 in Philadelphia reports that Pierce was robbed and had his BMW stolen. The car has since been recovered, and police have processed it to check for evidence.

According to the report, Pierce and a friend were in his car when two men came up in another car. One jumped out with a gun, robbed Pierce and his friend and forced them out of the BMW.

The Ravens told CBS 3 in a statement, “We have been in contact with Bernard and we are aware of the situation.”

Pierce grew up in the Philadelphia suburbs and played his college football in Philadelphia at Temple.

No arrests have been made and no suspects have been identified.

Pennsylvania comes in #10 for toughest gun laws in American; glad to see they work so well.

Let me guess, they were driving their expensive car through the ghetto of Philly.

What do you think is going to happen?

  6. dwats says: Jun 25, 2013 7:13 PM

Let me guess. “Stay Classy Philly!” or how about “They must have been looking for batteries to throw.” or there’s gotta be some way we can incorporate booing Santa Claus into this. TROLLOLOLOLOL

  12. Iknoweverything says: Jun 25, 2013 7:25 PM

Where was Aaron Hernandez at during that time frame?

Yeah. I’m about to do it. I’m not happy about it, you’re not happy about it let’s just get through this the best we can…

This just reeks of Aaron “Trigger Happy” Hernandez and his one man crusade against law and order! Was that BMW a convertible? Eureka!

  19. mrpresident2 says: Jun 25, 2013 7:32 PM

Bet it was Ray Rice. You steal his carries, he steals your car.

  20. ingloriousmaster says: Jun 25, 2013 7:33 PM

If he had a gun it probably gets pulled and at least one person ends up dead. Pierce is smart enough to value his life over his money and pride. Some people are just going to do bad things. A perfect example of one less gun, one fewer deaths…

  26. akboots says: Jun 25, 2013 7:42 PM

Too bad one of the two who got robbed didn’t have a gun. Ooh yes, gun control, isn’t it a beautiful thing. They could have prevented someone else from being jacked, or shot.

  33. watermelon1 says: Jun 25, 2013 8:20 PM

Lets just all be glad Pierce and his friends are okay, and if you happen to be driving around in Philly… Be more aware and careful yourself.

    I never do but I will answer this comment;

    “readysethike says:

and Tank thinks atheletes shouldn’t carry guns”

Sir, pulling out your own gun when held at gunpoint will only get you killed. Being robbed and carjacked is still pretty good as compared to being shot.

Atheletes should try not to put themselves in harms way just like the rest of us. And like any luxury car owner they should equip their vehicule with a tracking device.

Bernard Pierce obviously didnt pull out a gun himself and probably had some kind of tracking equipement. And guess what, he pulled out of this as well as anyone could.

  35. corvusrex96 says: Jun 25, 2013 8:22 PM

For all the folks talking smack about gun control , PA is one of the easiest states to get a concealed weapon permit.

  36. blackngold4life says: Jun 25, 2013 8:24 PM

And y’all wonder why Pro Athletes carry heat?? Not because who they are but because what they have.. (Tank)

  38. montrealraider says: Jun 25, 2013 8:29 PM

Because protecting material possessions you own (and can buy insurance for) is a good enough reason to get in a gunfight.

Man do I love living in Quebec. Safest place in North America and for good reasons….

People on here trying to say that Peirce should have had a gun. The reality is if he did maybe this post we are reading would be about the death of him and his friend. Glad he is okay, no matter which team you root for.

  45. getyourownname says: Jun 25, 2013 9:15 PM

I don’t think that’s the best way to get on Bernard’s ticket list.

  48. db423 says: Jun 26, 2013 11:25 AM

He did the absolute right thing. Don’t get your ego up, let them have the car. It’s insured and you won’t hurt your career by getting into an altercation and hurting someone. Then they would claim he was the aggressor. Hell, even give them gas money and thank the Lord that the idiots didn’t accidentally pull the trigger.

  49. fguy38 says: Jun 27, 2013 5:23 PM

Glad he wasn’t shot but after seeing and knowing what kind of a person bernard was growing up and the things he did to people in his own community. I can tell you everyone was cracking up when they heard this story. #KARMA
