Jaguars wide receiver Justin Blackmon’s suspended for the first four regular season games, but he’s eligible to participate in training camp and the preseason.

Now, there’s a chance he’ll miss part of that time.

According to Ryan O’Halloran of the Florida Times-Union, Blackmon recently had groin surgery, and could be back for the start of camp in three weeks.

Blackmon was limited during minicamp, and didn’t take part in the final session on June 14.

If he’s not ready to start camp, Mohamed Massaquoi would likely take reps with the first offense alongside Cecil Shorts. While it would obviously be better if he didn’t miss any time, he’s already taking a month off, so if there’s a chance he’s back by camp, he should be recovered by Week Five, when he’s eligible to return.
