At this time of year, there’s not much NFL news to go around unless it involves Aaron Hernandez.
So the word from the Dolphins that wide receiver Joe Hastings was placed on the reserve-retired list will get a mention it might not otherwise have at another time of year.
According to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, Hastings retired because of knee problems.
Hastings had a cup of coffee with the 49ers in 2011 after spending time on their practice squad, and signed with the Dolphins earlier this offseason after a tryout.
