Raiders’ Maiava charged with assault

And we have another delayed report of an AFC West arrest, but this one doesn’t involve the Broncos’ front office.

According to the Associated Press, Raiders linebacker Kaluka Maiava and his brother were charged with assaulting two men at a bar in Hawaii in March.

They were charged with misdemeanor assault and criminal property damage for the incident on March 17, allegedly causing bodily harm during a bar fight. That was four days after the Raiders signed him to a three-year, $6 million deal.

The Maiava brothers (nephews of wrestling star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson) were served with a summons on July 2, when local prosecutors learned they’d be back on the island. They’ll be arraigned July 25.

You know.. 2 young kids getting into a bar brawl and getting an assault charge just somehow doesn’t bother me as much as 2 of my 3 top executives getting DUI’s within the span of a month, especially with one of them hitting a cop car.

Since this happened in Hawaii, could be a chance that they call in Dog the Bounty Hunter if Maiava jumps bail? Cause that would be something else to see Dog and crew try to track Maiava in East Oakland with paintball guns.

Makes me wonder what these men are learning at the big football colleges. McClain(Alabama), Hernandez(Florida) and now Maiava(USC). Is it too much money, too little structure in the off season, or lack of a long term plan?
