Breaking: Gronkowski “enjoying life a lot more”

Rob Gronkowski’s feeling good.

That should come as less of a surprise than the fact that Rob Gronkowski wrote a book.

The Patriots tight end showed up to promote his new collection of prose “Growing up Gronk,” and he showed up without a cast or brace on his many times surgically repaired left arm.

“I can tell you this,” Gronkowski said, via Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald. “I’m in great spirits. I’m enjoying life a lot more. I can tell you that right there.”

That was about the extent of the insight from Gronkowski. He was asked for a reaction to the recent arrests of Aaron Hernandez and Alfonzo Dennard, as well as about the condition of his surgically repaired back.

“No reaction at all. I’m just here about the book,” was the blanket response to two fairly different questions.

Asked if the league had a problem with off-field conduct considering his own team seems to, the new author replied: “Ask Roger Goodell. . . .

“You’ve got to ask Roger. He’s been in the business for a while. . . . Roger that.”

Hopefully there’s more in the book, or else it would be available in pamphlet stores nationwide.

Love or hate the Patriots, you have to like Gronkowski.

Rob Gronkowski should have called his book “Tales of Patriot Madness” as an homage to the legendary Charles Bukowski’s bestseller “Tales of Ordinary Madness.”

    Gronkowski? Bukowski? Get it?

Sounds like Gronk has been coached well, probably by the Pats PR dept. The media will spin anything that these guys chime in about with the Hernandez case, so the smart thing is to respond exactly the way Gronk did. “No reaction… plead the 5th… next question.” It’s the only way any of these dudes should be responding right now, unless they want to make headlines for some kind of innocent trip-up.

I guess he’s all happy and relieved Hernandez is not on the team anymore…

  13. mangycougar says: Jul 11, 2013 3:33 PM

Did he have enough crayons to finish the book?

True story – I heard that he has a “handler” that tells him what and what not to do in public.

this kind of annoys me. dude, you are all of 1/3 through your career, why the heck do we need a gronk book? gronk appears to be the type who pretended to read in school. I really just hate when athletes or other famous folks write a darn book so early. its like Justin beiber, how do you write a book before 30 on your life? its mind boggling. gronk is writing this book WHILE his brain is developing. sigh.

I don`t blame him…his murderer teammate who plays the same position and was one spot lower on the depth chart is locked up…that cannot be a bad feeling…

Good for him. I’d rather a guy knows he needs to do that because he might say or do something that might not be good for the team than you kow, drive drunk and or murder people.

See Gronk run. Run Gronk run. See Gronk drink beer. Gronk likes beer.

Some selected excerpts from the gripping autobiography.
