Jaguars get Ace Sanders in the fold

The Jaguars have just one draft pick left to sign.

The agent for wide receiver Ace Sanders told Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun that his client has reached agreement on a four-year deal with the Jaguars, leaving only sixth-round safety Josh Evans unsigned among the Jaguars draft picks. There shouldn’t be much problem getting that deal done in time for the Jaguars to start camp with all hands on deck.

Sanders, who was taken in the fourth round with the 101st overall pick, is going to have a hard time being more than a slot receiver on offense for Jacksonville thanks to his size. At 5-foot-7 and 173 pounds, life as an outside receiver is likely beyond his grasp. The Jags can use an effective player in the slot to go with Cecil Shorts and Justin Blackmon, however, so Sanders should get a chance to earn playing time with the first time during camp.

He’ll also be a part of the special teams units with the Jaguars after returning three punts for touchdowns during his career at South Carolina.
