Jacksonville Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew hasn’t been able to practice since a foot injury ended his 2012 season in October. He wasn’t cleared to practice during the team’s offseason workouts and chose to handle his rehabilitation away from the team for periods of time.

With Jaguars’ training camp set to open July 26, Jacksonville running backs coach Terry Richardson expects Jones-Drew to be ready to go early on. According to Ryan O’Halloran of the Florida Times-Union, Richardson has “faith and confidence” Jones-Drew will be able to participate when the team can begin full-pads work on July 31.

Jones-Drew’s return will be a big boost for the Jaguars offense. A reinvigorated running game could take some pressure off the quarterback position regardless of whether Blaine Gabbert or Chad Henne wins the starting job in camp.
